After a number of months of house-hunting, a place we were really interested in went to auction last week. We’d been seriously considering putting in a bid, but decided to go ahead and put up the money to get it inspected in the meantime, just to be safe. Turns out that was a good decision.
This photo was taken by the inspector of the foundation underneath the house. In case you’re wondering what that red arrow is pointing at, that would be a car jack, mounted on a rotting piece of wood, mounted on a cinder block holding up one corner of the house.
Yeah, hiring an inspector was definitely the right decision.
