Earlier this week Ben and I went to check out the Bloomingdale Trail, an abandoned rail line that goes through the northwest side of the city. There’s talk that it’ll be renovated into something like the High Line in New York, though that’s probably still quite a few years away. Right now it’s apparently populated by joggers and bikers (though it doesn’t seem like there are many bike-friendly surfaces to me) and perhaps some more nefarious types during off-hours. The access points are mostly blocked off so it took us a while to find a way up, but once we did it was fun to be in this quiet little oasis in the middle of the busy city.
More info one what’s going on with the trail here.
