The other day I stumbled on the Library of Congress’ photo archive from the Chicago Daily News and was completely charmed while browsing through the collection. It contains over 55,000 news and lifestyle images dating from 1902 – 1933. There are plenty that are Chicago-specific, but quite a few others could have been taken anywhere and offer such a wonderful view into the everday life of people during that era. There are so many topics that I came across and would love to share with you all, so I’ll be posting a few of my favorites over the coming weeks.
Today’s collection of photos (inspired by this sweet display) feature wonderful vintage photos of dogs and their people. What better way to glimpse the past than by discovering that our love for our animals hasn’t really changed all that much in 100 years.
