Happy Birthday, Mr. Rogers

Today is (Mr.) Fred Rogers birthday, and I saw this adorable clip over at Pretty Little Things and wanted to share it with you all. Mr. Rogers and his break-dancing friend. So great.

I also saw another clip of Mr. Rogers a few weeks ago and loved it, though I didn’t think it was totally right to post here at the time. Now, though, since it’s Mr. Rogers birthday, and with the recent threats (and real votes) to defund PBS and NPR, I thought it was appropriate to share. In the clip, Fred Rogers explains the value of his television show and the important role of public television, from 1969 when PBS was facing major cuts from President Nixon. Watch as even powerful Senators are completely taken in by Mr. Rogers decency and reason.
