Spooky

When I was a kid, we waited anxiously through September for the one special weekend when we were finally allowed to put up our Halloween decorations. We had a selection of paper cut-out Dracula, pumpkins, spooky crescent moons and mummies that we’d tape them up to the bathroom and front door, the tops of the stairs and peering out the front window. The favorite that we always fought over was the smiling black cat, which the boys and girls took turns putting on our bedroom door (except for the year that my little brother decided that he was too scared by the Dracula on his door and we girls had to trade him. I still say it was a ploy.)

Now that we’ve got a place of our own, I’ve been thinking about decorating for Halloween and, of course, trolling the internet for the best vintage decorations I can find (some of which look strikingly similar to the ones we put up all those years ago). Here are some of my favorite Halloween finds.
