Summer Over the City

“Everything looks perfect from far away,” or so The Postal Service tells us. George Steinmetz’s photo series in the New Yorker is part “Where’s Waldo,” part ode to summer in the city. Chronicling NYC through aerial photos shot via helicopter, the results are distilled almost to the point of abstraction– color, pattern and texture take over.
