About

Hello there! I’m Abbey Hambright, the brains behind this operation. I’ve been running my little business, abbeychristine, since 2005, and started this blog about a year later to chronicle my adventures as a maker and business owner, and many artists whose work I find inspiring.Abbey HambrightI’m a native Midwesterner who, after a few years of wandering, laid down roots in Chicago. I live in the Pilsen neighborhood in an 1894 worker’s cottage with my partner, toddler son and our not-very-bright foxhound. By day I’m a designer and non-profit marketer, and by night I can usually be found in my studio watching Netflix and sewing. When I was 5, my favorite thing in the world was a new box of crayons. Today I enjoy thrift stores, coconut Italian sodas and listening to This American Life.

  3. I really like your stuff! Would you be interested in vendor space at the Artsgarden in downtown Indianapolis next May for a fundraiser hosted by the Children’s Bureau Auxiliary?

  4. Love your blog. Came here from a link on Pee Wee’s site! Where did the box of toys come from to make the helmet?
    Again… Great blog!

    • Hey Jerome! Thanks for stopping by. Glad you found me by way of Pee Wee! The post there was a little misleading– I didn’t buy the box pre-assembled, it was my box for storing toys as I collected them. I just added a list of sources to my original post about the helmet.
